Things are getting crazy by the day.
Speaker:If you haven't noticed it, then maybe your hiding away somewhere and some remote
Speaker:island where no one knows where you are, but it does seem that the world is getting
Speaker:crazier and things are happening faster.
Speaker:And it looks like the next few months are going to be even worse.
Speaker:And so.
Speaker:Last week, I felt really overwhelmed.
Speaker:It was quite unusual for me to find myself wondering how I was going to get through
Speaker:this, how I was going to stay positive, stay high vibration, and keep focused
Speaker:on my passion, my purpose going forward.
Speaker:.I sat down and I came up with my choosing happy life support kit and what this
Speaker:is, is just a list of things that I can turn to when I'm feeling a little bit
Speaker:low, I can use to raise my vibration, to remind me to ground me, to bring me
Speaker:back to the positive elements of life and right back to the now moments I've
Speaker:said before that every moment counts.
Speaker:If you're feeling down, don't think too far into the future, think about what
Speaker:you can do positively and the next minute or the next hour, what can you do today?
Speaker:That's going to make a difference to you first.
Speaker:That's going to lift you up first so that you can lift the people around you.
Speaker:And that's what this episode is all about.
Speaker:I want to help you to create.
Speaker:Your system of support yourself, support life system.
Speaker:So let's get started with this.
Speaker:Week's choosing happy podcasts.
Speaker:The world looks like it's going to get crazier rather than comma in the
Speaker:next few weeks in the next few months.
Speaker:And I personally feel we're on the brink of massive change, even
Speaker:bigger than we've seen already.
Speaker:And if you ever saw things were going back to normal, I hope you've taken
Speaker:time to reconsider and that you're coming around to the perspective
Speaker:that that's unlikely to have.
Speaker:And are you formulating a way forward for yourself and your family to get
Speaker:through the crazy coming months?
Speaker:There's a ton of adjusting to do in my opinion, as we go through the coming
Speaker:months and into 2022, I've been putting together a self-support system, kind of
Speaker:like my oxygen mask for resilience and positivity self-sufficiency and choosing.
Speaker:Sometimes being remote and on my own, most of the time I can find
Speaker:it overwhelming to be acutely aware of what's going on in the world.
Speaker:And yet find that the world goes on around me often.
Speaker:Ignorance.
Speaker:It's a feeling I relate to like losing someone you love
Speaker:that you really are close to.
Speaker:And careful, I remember going to the funeral of my father-in-law really the
Speaker:first funeral I attended as an adult and I respected and loved him so much.
Speaker:He was so funny and positive and yet brutally honest.
Speaker:I remember sitting in the car on the way to the funeral and watching the
Speaker:rush hour, continue around me while my world seemed to be standing still.
Speaker:And sometimes that's how I feel today.
Speaker:When I see people carrying on with their lives completely unaware or on interested
Speaker:in what's really happening around them.
Speaker:And I want to shout out don't, you know, what's happened.
Speaker:Of course for the funeral.
Speaker:It had nothing to do with them.
Speaker:It's more frustrating today because it has to do with the future of
Speaker:humanity and every person on the planet, especially the children,
Speaker:my resilience oxygen mask.
Speaker:My life support system is a group of lists that I've created around
Speaker:things I can do that I can create, that I can take action on that.
Speaker:I can feel that I can challenge myself to keep me feeling healthily alive,
Speaker:energized, and focused on the good as well as things to pay attention
Speaker:to for my own self-care for my safety and security in broader terms.
Speaker:Some of these are practical, some spiritual, somewhat daily fun tasks.
Speaker:Some are health related, and most of them are self care focused.
Speaker:So grab a pen and a piece of paper and give it a go.
Speaker:Pause the podcast.
Speaker:When you go do this and just write down the headings to begin with,
Speaker:you know, take your time with this.
Speaker:This is not a half hour job.
Speaker:This is going to take you some time and I'm hoping you're going
Speaker:to find it fun and invigorating while you put the kit together.
Speaker:So even if you think the world is honky-dory going through, this is a
Speaker:kind of fun way to help yourself and to pass it on to of the people and help
Speaker:with maintaining mental, spiritual, and physical health and wellbeing.
Speaker:So when you're having a bad day or you've been sideswiped by life,
Speaker:you've got something to turn to, to lift your spirits, to keep you
Speaker:positive, to help you choose happy.
Speaker:Now I've put the lists and categories, and I'm generally asking you to come up
Speaker:with at least 10 alternatives, if you can.
Speaker:And I'll explain each as we go through.
Speaker:So let's get started.
Speaker:My first list.
Speaker:Well, it should really be an easy one it's music.
Speaker:So includes theme songs, motivational songs, foot tappers, jiggy songs,
Speaker:things that get you up to dance, maybe three to four of each
Speaker:make a list of them and then put them together in playlists that are easily
Speaker:accessible for those in need GD moments.
Speaker:The next list is meditations.
Speaker:These can be guided visualizations hypnosis.
Speaker:Mindfulness meditation , a good mix can really, really
Speaker:help make a playlist again.
Speaker:And something you can go back to when you're feeling anxious or stress when
Speaker:things are just overwhelming you, but you have these at hand to help you through.
Speaker:Make a list, make sure you have easy access.
Speaker:And if you want to challenge begin doing two per day, if you are already
Speaker:foods of the next things list, healthy foods list, do very day foods list your
Speaker:favorite treat foods, have them available.
Speaker:Especially the energy giving healthy foods and with the healthy foods start
Speaker:incorporating the more into your diet.
Speaker:If you aren't doing that already, the next one's pictures and photos,
Speaker:make your list and pull together your favorite pictures and photos of the
Speaker:ones that lift you up just when you see them and put them together in an album
Speaker:somewhere that's easily accessible, quotes and inspiring, supportive.
Speaker:pieces of text.
Speaker:Find them create posters, make a list of them first.
Speaker:Then write them out individually and create posters and print outs
Speaker:that you can have around you.
Speaker:Pin them around your house, around your bedroom.
Speaker:Wherever works for you.
Speaker:Books.
Speaker:Firstly, non-fiction make a list of 10 books that have inspired you and you'd
Speaker:read again and then have them to hands, decide to read them, make a monthly
Speaker:list of the books you want to read.
Speaker:And then we move on to fiction books and do the same, make them list of the 10
Speaker:funniest, happiest books you've read and would read again and again, gather them,
Speaker:have them to hand and maybe start reading.
Speaker:Audiobooks and podcasts, this 10 audios that inspire you and make you
Speaker:feel uplifted after listening to them, make sure you have them bookmarked
Speaker:or that they're easily accessed.
Speaker:Most empowering moments and memories, list them out, write out in a journal,
Speaker:choose a journal that you're going to have as your support system
Speaker:and list out the most empowering moments and memories of your life.
Speaker:So you can read them back, go into detail, put in the emotion, put in
Speaker:the feelings, put in what you saw, what you had even put in the smell.
Speaker:Clothes that make you feel good.
Speaker:Pull out those fab clothes that you love and a saving for that perfect occasion
Speaker:or buy the new, if you need some new ones, the ones that make you feel on top of
Speaker:the world and that you feel really like yourself, absolutely aligned and confident
Speaker:when you wear them and decide to wear.
Speaker:Whether it's once a week, once a month pull out 10 different
Speaker:outfits that really inspire you.
Speaker:She's got that many and decide to wear them physical exercise.
Speaker:List up to 10 forms of physical movement that you live doing and you
Speaker:feel good about makes you feel good afterwards, whether it's jogging,
Speaker:walking, dancing, cycling, you want to fix cleaning, yoga, stretching, or a
Speaker:certain exercise routine that you've made up yourself, or you love put it
Speaker:together, write it down, write down 10.
Speaker:If you can, even if you know, it's five minutes listening to your favorite tunes.
Speaker:Digging round the kitchen and put it down on your list and start doing them.
Speaker:You know, even if it's a running up downstairs, incorporate them into
Speaker:your life again on a regular basis and try to build at least five minutes of
Speaker:movement, five times a day to keep you feeling motivated and energized and
Speaker:keeping your energy high and keeping your fitness levels and strength high.
Speaker:Next pastimes that bring you joy, or you just have fun with and enjoy doing
Speaker:things like jigsaws on knitting or gaming or postals fishing, crafting, composing
Speaker:music, writing, whatever it is for you.
Speaker:List them out.
Speaker:Try to get 10, if you can plan to do at least one per week and begin
Speaker:with the one you haven't done in ages that you really love doing.
Speaker:And the next one is beverages list out your favorite drinks.
Speaker:Now I'm a bit of a coffee and a tea addict.
Speaker:I love Earl gray tea and a little bit particular about beverages, but it can
Speaker:be wine, a log of whatever your drinks are, make a list of your favorite drinks
Speaker:and half the drinks to hand have them in stock and treat yourself once a
Speaker:week, if possible, to the ones you have least all of the most and vary them.
Speaker:Give yourself a bit of variety.
Speaker:Physical things.
Speaker:That's furniture, art gifts.
Speaker:You've received things you've took away for special occasions, list your treasured
Speaker:items and bring them out and use them.
Speaker:For example, if you've a China in a service you and use for special
Speaker:occasions, then begin to use it drink out of that special cup.
Speaker:That treasure piece of jewelry keeps safe.
Speaker:Wear it.
Speaker:Have them close to hand for those days, you need a lift and you feel
Speaker:like just getting either dressed up or drinking out of that special cope.
Speaker:Even if it's the sexy underwear or the hat you onstage to a wedding, we
Speaker:have a hat in the house who knows.
Speaker:It might just cheer your day.
Speaker:So make the list and decide when you're going to bring them out
Speaker:and have them available to them.
Speaker:Press mantras, poetry, longer, press and poetry that give you a lift.
Speaker:Just reading them, make a list of them.
Speaker:Find them, find the sources and write them in your journal.
Speaker:So the zap to go to when you need a.
Speaker:Laughing out loud things that make you laugh out loud, list them.
Speaker:What are the top 10 things that make you laugh out loud?
Speaker:Whether it's a whoopee cushion or a child's laugh, or the time you turned
Speaker:up to work with your shirt on back to front, whatever it is, whatever
Speaker:memories, wherever ever sings, whatever people make you laugh out loud, write
Speaker:each one out in detail in your journal.
Speaker:And if possible, if you've got photographs.
Speaker:Video clips then have them to hand for when you need that
Speaker:laughing out loud moment.
Speaker:Your favorite people, those, you know, and love and would love to spend
Speaker:time with, or just feel happy when you think about them, list them out.
Speaker:Hopefully you've got 10, if you haven't, it doesn't matter.
Speaker:Just those important people that are so special that they lift you up.
Speaker:When you just think about them, visualize.
Speaker:Right about them in your journal and write three reasons.
Speaker:You love to spend time with them.
Speaker:What's so special about them.
Speaker:Put as much detail and emotion in as possible.
Speaker:And then the next ones, places you would like to go, just list them out.
Speaker:Absolutely open-minded about this, not whether it's possible or not
Speaker:just places you would love to visit.
Speaker:Write in your journal, three reasons you want to go there and find pictures and
Speaker:paste them in as a well, first things you would like to do and you haven't done yet.
Speaker:Make a left.
Speaker:Write them in your journal and write three reasons why you want to do
Speaker:that thing and a date that you want to do them by challenges, things
Speaker:you want to do that are outside your comfort zone that you're resisting.
Speaker:Again, list them out.
Speaker:Try to get 10, whether it's running a marathon, making sales calls,
Speaker:starting a business, speaking in public, driving somewhere on your own
Speaker:driving some way you've always wanted to go and still haven't gone yet.
Speaker:Attending a class you've been putting off.
Speaker:Or selling or giving or throwing away family heirlooms that aren't
Speaker:relevant to where you are right now.
Speaker:And you feel guilty doing it, choose to do something that's totally you for you.
Speaker:And just because, and write them in your journal.
Speaker:I acknowledge when you've done it.
Speaker:I begin to do it, give a date when you're going to do it.
Speaker:By
Speaker:funny TV shows, movies, comedian sets.
Speaker:Things like that, that make you laugh list 10, that you really love and
Speaker:have them at hand to rewatch just when you need them truths, alignment,
Speaker:purpose things, you know about yourself that you haven't been living
Speaker:list them list things that are totally true to you, that you've
Speaker:not had the courage to live out.
Speaker:Choose the ones you want to take action on and bring into your life.
Speaker:For instance, if you've always been a singer and stopped singing because of
Speaker:something that happens, then begin singing just for you in the shower while you're
Speaker:cooking writings, mine, I stopped writing.
Speaker:Because someone said it was a crutch I used, it's actually something
Speaker:that I do very naturally and I'm putting it in my diary to do each.
Speaker:Uplifting movies, list out the movies that leave you inspired
Speaker:and happy or just feeling good.
Speaker:Find them, make sure you have access to them.
Speaker:Begin watching them again.
Speaker:I know at the moment that there are a lot of people around where
Speaker:I live, who are watching Christmas movies again, it's that time of year.
Speaker:And they feel good and they take you out of yourself and lift you up.
Speaker:Animals.
Speaker:You love list out the animals.
Speaker:You love have pictures of them.
Speaker:If you don't have the animals with you, then find picture.
Speaker:So for instance, if your favorite animals, a penguin or a snow leopard,
Speaker:find pictures and put the pictures where you can access them and your job.
Speaker:10 things you appreciate most about where you are.
Speaker:So in the present moment, as you sit in your environment, in this
Speaker:space, in your life and the space and time, what is it that you
Speaker:really appreciate about this moment?
Speaker:List out 10 things and put them in your journal in as much detail as possible and
Speaker:include how you feel, what you see and what makes those things really special.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:10, amazingly positive things about the future you would like to see.
Speaker:So whether it's a future for you just around you or whether it's the future
Speaker:of the world and how you want to see the world going forward, think outside
Speaker:of the box, think in an unlimited way.
Speaker:I dumped to your journal in as much detail as possible.
Speaker:And again, include what you see, how you feel, what makes those things importance,
Speaker:really get into the why of this.
Speaker:What's important for you, funniest moments of your life.
Speaker:So funny things that have happened to you or that you've
Speaker:witnessed again, make a less.
Speaker:Record them in your journal and as much detail as possible so that when
Speaker:you go back to read them, it has you lifted and laughing out loud and
Speaker:really step into those moments and as much detail as possible, what makes
Speaker:them so funny and what makes them so memorable 10 moments in time that make
Speaker:the biggest positive impact on you?
Speaker:And go deep on this, make a list at them to your journal in as much detail as
Speaker:possible, but go deep and really think of those moments that kind of transformed
Speaker:you in a positive way or transformed your life or your perspective, or
Speaker:showed you something, maybe a lesson, or it was just one of those awesome
Speaker:moments where you believed God exists.
Speaker:Next things you would like to see, do an experience that we haven't covered yet.
Speaker:So I could go on, there could be many, many more categories.
Speaker:Um, but rather than doing that, find a list of 10 things that.
Speaker:Would love to do C a experience that I haven't covered.
Speaker:Go wild with this.
Speaker:If anything was possible, what would you love to do again, thinks outside
Speaker:of the box, think unlimited and add them to your journal and as much
Speaker:detail as possible and really get into how it would make you feel, what you
Speaker:see and what makes them important.
Speaker:Why are these things that you would so much like.
Speaker:I think that's enough to be going on with, you'll find a link to
Speaker:the download in the show notes.
Speaker:There's
Speaker:also a transcription that's attached to this with the questions in it.
Speaker:So take your time.
Speaker:This is a task that should be given thoughts and consideration, make it
Speaker:fun, really enjoy it, really play with it and find the stuff that you love.
Speaker:The idea is that as you create these lists, you begin to
Speaker:gather the answers around you.
Speaker:You begin to fill in your support box.
Speaker:So when you're in need of support and something to lift you, you have
Speaker:these hand, you have some tools that can lift you up and you can choose.
Speaker:You've got quite a range of choices then, and you have them,
Speaker:as I said, at hand and convenient to you, and it's a great way to.
Speaker:Uh, high vibration and it's a great way to choose happy.
Speaker:Some people may say that this is an avoidance technique.
Speaker:This is really to be used, not so much as an avoidance,
Speaker:but it's a support technique.
Speaker:As things get a bit bleak in our lives as sometimes they do.
Speaker:It's just a way to keep your high vibration and keep you happy.
Speaker:Give you something to choon into and fall back into when you just need that lift.
Speaker:That helps you choose happy.
Speaker:Thank you for listening.
Speaker:I do appreciate the time you've taken to listen to this podcast, please
Speaker:like, and share if you think this is going to be a value to someone
Speaker:else, you know, and I love it.
Speaker:If you could leave me a review because it does support the
Speaker:podcast and it helps me keep going.
Speaker:Thank you again.
Speaker:And I look forward to seeing you next week and the choosing happy podcast.
