Episode 24 - Choosing Courage

Courage, a quality I believe we all need now in spades, if we are to move through the shifts and changes we are seeing in the world.

In this episode I look at where we need to be especially courageous, where we are already being courageous and may not recognise it and what I think courage really means.

Topics include:

  • Why is courage crucial now?
  • What is courage?
  • How are you courageous and where I believe courage is required going forward.

I do hope you find this episode useful. Please share if you think this can help someone you know.

Speaker:

Hello, and welcome to the choosing happy podcast.

Speaker:

I want to apologize for.

Speaker:

Delay getting the next podcast to you.

Speaker:

I had two weeks where I took time out to really reflect on what content I

Speaker:

wanted to offer to this podcast now.

Speaker:

And in the future, everything is changing as you probably know,

Speaker:

Outside and around the world.

Speaker:

And I just wanted to make sure that I was addressing the things that listeners

Speaker:

might want to know about tonight.

Speaker:

I'm looking at courage and the courage that it will take for us to move

Speaker:

forward in this ever-changing world with these very strange circumstances.

Speaker:

So I wanted to cover courage and what I am finding for myself around courage.

Speaker:

Courage means in terms of having to step up to Wade through the really

Speaker:

fast changes that are happening and the courage to choose, to be happy to

Speaker:

let go of things that are dying away and to embrace the new and the courage

Speaker:

to have a vision for the future.

Speaker:

So all of that, and more in this week's choosing happy podcast.

Speaker:

Courage.

Speaker:

What does that mean to you?

Speaker:

When are you being courageous?

Speaker:

Do you think it takes courage to choose happy?

Speaker:

For me, courage is not about not being afraid.

Speaker:

It's about being frightened and doing it anyway, moving through that

Speaker:

resistance, that feeling of being challenged, that feeling of wanting.

Speaker:

Closed down rather than open up over the past few weeks, I've had what I believe

Speaker:

in and how I believe the world works.

Speaker:

Constantly being brought into question and challenged, and I'm

Speaker:

learning that exploring or the perspectives of the premises.

Speaker:

Other presuppositions and paradigms also takes courage to allow yourself to

Speaker:

admit that how you thought and made your decisions and how you made your choices

Speaker:

and how you believed your world work has been not just inefficient, but actually

Speaker:

detrimental to how you've lived your life.

Speaker:

And that that perspective has quashed your creativity, your personal power and your

Speaker:

ability to create the life that you want.

Speaker:

It's humbling, challenging, and unsettling.

Speaker:

When your internal view of the world is shaken to the core, we want

Speaker:

to navigate back to solid ground.

Speaker:

I've been learning how to be happy living in the not knowing.

Speaker:

And I'm not saying I'm doing it all the time.

Speaker:

I'm struggling as though I've been learning, actually putting it into action.

Speaker:

I find really challenging.

Speaker:

All of my doubts, my fears, my shirts, my most, my limitations,

Speaker:

my beliefs are coming up to get me to swim back to the shore and find

Speaker:

that old island of solid ground when I'm on my way to somewhere new.

Speaker:

And this is just my personal experience, my internal world and my experience

Speaker:

of finding my truth and my reality.

Speaker:

And when I look at the paradigm shattering things that are happening

Speaker:

around the world, I acknowledged that this is the next step of my journey,

Speaker:

and I believe it's the next step of a lot of other people as well.

Speaker:

And there are unlikely to be many solid foundations to build on for

Speaker:

quite some time as what we've known.

Speaker:

Over our lifetimes is disintegrating, crumbling, and calling on us to

Speaker:

create something new and magnificent.

Speaker:

We can only begin to create something new by changing our thinking

Speaker:

process by perceiving and intuiting in new and magnificent ways.

Speaker:

Otherwise we're likely to replace the old was a copy of what came before

Speaker:

as an it analyst and contracts.

Speaker:

I remember working for a company who invested millions and the best

Speaker:

cutting edge software package to your place and old system, they bought

Speaker:

the package and switched off all of the cutting edge parts of the system.

Speaker:

So what they ended up with was a festival version of the old system,

Speaker:

nothing really had changed, and this is what we want to avoid.

Speaker:

It takes courage these days to dream and envision beyond what

Speaker:

we've been programmed to know what we feel we are limited to doing.

Speaker:

It takes lateral thinking, critical thinking innovation and creativity,

Speaker:

and that doesn't always come from the most experienced people often.

Speaker:

It's the novices.

Speaker:

The beginners that can think beyond the paradigm because they don't

Speaker:

have a picture of what the paradigm should be, what the box looks like.

Speaker:

There are no edges, they haven't been programmed into what the

Speaker:

limitations of the system are.

Speaker:

They can ask and dream of functionality and possibilities and creation and

Speaker:

innovation and expand paradise.

Speaker:

For instance, I remember writing a user guide and installation guide

Speaker:

and a training course retrospectively for a mobile phone reporting system.

Speaker:

The fact, I didn't know, the system turned out to be a huge advantage, but when I

Speaker:

began, that's not what I saw when I began, I felt intimidated that I didn't know how

Speaker:

the system worked, but I realized that.

Speaker:

My gold.

Speaker:

Every question I came up with was almost certainly going

Speaker:

to be asked by someone else.

Speaker:

Writing a client guide, a user guide and how it works was easy because I decided

Speaker:

to document every place I got stuck.

Speaker:

Every question I had, every step I took to learn and build the system myself.

Speaker:

The other advantage was that the tech team who knew the system were too busy to help.

Speaker:

So I had to figure things out.

Speaker:

As I went along, I had to figure things out is if I was the trainee going through

Speaker:

the training, sometimes lack of knowledge and preconceptions are huge advantage.

Speaker:

If you have no preconception or don't understand what supposedly

Speaker:

isn't possible, you come up with possibilities beyond the norm.

Speaker:

And I believe it takes massive courage to operate from there.

Speaker:

And you world is daunting.

Speaker:

If you hadn't noticed and beyond the veil of propaganda and nonsense,

Speaker:

there are millions of people around the world, forming new communities,

Speaker:

exploring how we begin to create something new and wonderful.

Speaker:

What do we want our new world to look like?

Speaker:

How do we move through this transition together was a focus on harmonious

Speaker:

communities, honoring mother earth, while raising consciousness

Speaker:

and awareness and opening up to new realities and opportunities.

Speaker:

We've never allowed ourselves even to contemplate or imagine I, for one,

Speaker:

I'm realizing how much courage this.

Speaker:

No matter the scale or the location or who you are.

Speaker:

It takes courage to step up and commit to being a part of this new world and

Speaker:

to be open to new ways of thinking new ways of being new ways of awareness,

Speaker:

uh, new ways of openness to ideas that yesterday seemed like conspiracy theories.

Speaker:

It takes courage to love and truth and integrity and service,

Speaker:

and to have compassion and forgiveness around the world.

Speaker:

Why does it take courage

Speaker:

in opening up?

Speaker:

We work through cognitive dissonance.

Speaker:

A whole self wants to deny and disbelieve what has been presented because it

Speaker:

feels threatened at a deep primal level.

Speaker:

Our egos, my ego would rather have me die than to acknowledged the

Speaker:

premise that it's been working with.

Speaker:

The beliefs values and reality system it's created to keep me safe.

Speaker:

And how it sees the world works, but it's no longer true.

Speaker:

It has nothing to hold on to or to direct with.

Speaker:

It doesn't know what's true anymore.

Speaker:

It takes courage to be open, to questioning everything

Speaker:

you once held as true.

Speaker:

And to look beyond the reality structure you've created for

Speaker:

yourself and that's being presented.

Speaker:

All of your life to the possibilities and the other realities and

Speaker:

paradigms that are out there.

Speaker:

But once you've worked your way, courageously through the shift, through

Speaker:

the cognitive dissonance, you're likely to find yourself was another challenge.

Speaker:

You've crossed the bridge and you've left many people who

Speaker:

are probably closest to you.

Speaker:

On the other side, you could go back.

Speaker:

And live a life with a memory of what the other side looks like.

Speaker:

We could drop the bridge, preventing you from returning to that old

Speaker:

paradigm to draw up the bridge takes.

Speaker:

You learn that you have to leave others behind and step onto a path

Speaker:

of self expansion that you had never imagined or anticipated before.

Speaker:

One way you learn that responsibility for yourself, and then for those

Speaker:

around you, and then for humanity lies with you in whatever form

Speaker:

that takes for you in particular.

Speaker:

Your contribution to the new vision, to the lights, to the higher resonance,

Speaker:

to the new planets is truly valuable.

Speaker:

And how that shows up for you is yours alone.

Speaker:

It takes courage to let go of the past and to work out your role.

Speaker:

As you watched the world crumble, you watch those, you love suffer

Speaker:

while most people, you know,

Speaker:

exist and an oblivious fog.

Speaker:

It takes courage to navigate these two realities to be called insane,

Speaker:

to be de-friended, to be shunned by friends and family for your new

Speaker:

controversial and supposedly radical.

Speaker:

As the old paradigm breaks down and the veil collapses and the wizard is revealed.

Speaker:

It takes courage to sit with your truth to let go of the, I told you so, and

Speaker:

two, instead of the compassion, support and guidance where you can, it takes

Speaker:

courage through all of this to serve, to get your own wellbeing in place.

Speaker:

To stay safe and strong and to take care of yourself on your family.

Speaker:

First and foremost, it takes courage to choose happy and all of this,

Speaker:

it takes courage to choose from your own flavor of illusion, your own bank with.

Speaker:

It takes courage to choose focus, to choose, to recognize where your focus is

Speaker:

and to choose to refocus when you need to, it takes courage to acknowledge when

Speaker:

you are reacting rather than responding when you were in someone else's stuff,

Speaker:

trying to be right, and to win rather than stepping back, letting them.

Speaker:

And instead often compassion and the belief that they have full responsibility

Speaker:

for their paths and their choices as you do yours, it takes courage to

Speaker:

let go when you know, it's best and wisest that they go that path alone.

Speaker:

Every emotion wants to challenge you and to fight and to persuade.

Speaker:

These people, they, you know, better.

Speaker:

It takes courage to let that go.

Speaker:

It takes courage to observe when you've done all that you can, and to watch the

Speaker:

consequences unfold, it takes courage to be right when you don't want to be right.

Speaker:

It takes courage to stay focused on the purpose.

Speaker:

On the reason you're here on the power of your variables.

Speaker:

And the greater purpose, which is so much greater than us, it

Speaker:

takes courage to feel the grief and the pain and to choose happy.

Speaker:

Anyway, it takes courage to live with deliberate intent, recognizing that the

Speaker:

choices we make in every moment satisfy a goal unconsciously or consciously.

Speaker:

And it takes courage to question your motives.

Speaker:

It takes courage to be brutally honest with yourself as everything

Speaker:

unfolds and everything unfurls within

Speaker:

and all of this would take courage and what we once would

Speaker:

call normal circumstances.

Speaker:

Yeah, everything feels so much more magnified now and much

Speaker:

more noticeable as we shift.

Speaker:

It takes courage to forgive, to have compassion, to be willing, to

Speaker:

understand, and to allow each person their own task, their own choices,

Speaker:

their own part in this great unfolding.

Speaker:

It takes courage to recognize that they have their own responsibilities

Speaker:

for their own journey.

Speaker:

No matter how hurt you feel, watching them walk over.

Speaker:

It takes courage to focus on a new future, a new and beautiful world, a

Speaker:

new magnificence, a new life from of us while paying witness to the destruction

Speaker:

of the old, it takes courage to trust that everything is unfolding perfectly.

Speaker:

It takes courage to acknowledge.

Speaker:

There is so much more.

Speaker:

We do not.

Speaker:

It takes courage to acknowledge the darkness.

Speaker:

We still do not know.

Speaker:

It takes courage to choose what we do with what we do know, and to take our

Speaker:

own path in this magnificent unfolding.

Speaker:

It takes courage to choose happy and all that.

Speaker:

To recognize the magic that is with us in every moment, the magic of the sunrise,

Speaker:

the spirit and vibration of a tree, the gratitude we feel for the food and water.

Speaker:

We have the joy and the child's innocent smile, the open hearted

Speaker:

freedom and laughing out loud.

Speaker:

You are courageous.

Speaker:

Speaker:
