Foreign hello and welcome to this week's Choosing Happy Podcast.

Speaker A:

I'm talking about sales, something that I know that I've struggled with in different forms over the years.

Speaker A:

And let's be real, sales can feel like a dirty word for many of us in the transformational space.

Speaker A:

I used to cringe at the thought of selling my coaching and NLP training, and I think I'm here to.

Speaker A:

To help, not to push people into buying something they don't want.

Speaker A:

All of those limiting beliefs around my worth, is what I'm offering valuable enough?

Speaker A:

And all of the things around self sabotage and imposter syndrome, and maybe you felt that too, you're worried you'll come off as sleazy or that asking for 2 to 3,000 for your program is too much.

Speaker A:

And that resistance is.

Speaker A:

Isn't just a feeling, it's a mindset block.

Speaker A:

And it's keeping you from the impact you're meant to have in the world.

Speaker A:

Especially as this time, as humanity and the world is, are going through so many changes and so many challenges, there are people waiting for you to show up and support them.

Speaker A:

've known Connor Healey since:

And Connor's closed over 50% of his cold leads and generated millions in course revenues throughout his sales career.

But what I love most is his approach.

Speaker A:

It's all about soulful, aligned, authentic sales.

Speaker A:

He says sales isn't about pressure, it's about perception.

Speaker A:

And that hit me hard.

Speaker A:

If we secretly believe our offer is too expensive or that we're burdening someone by selling, our prospects feel that doubt and it's very unlikely that they'll buy from us.

Connor's forever client matrix breaks this down into three phases.

Speaker A:

And it's pure magic for over overcoming resistance for both you and your clients.

Speaker A:

So in phase one, you're building rapport.

Speaker A:

You're getting to know your clients.

Speaker A:

And the important thing is that you're letting them talk 80% of the time so that you uncover their objections and you understand them at a deeper level.

Speaker A:

Their objections could be things like time or money.

Speaker A:

They're really quite common.

Speaker A:

And in phase two, it's all about reinforcing the emotional connection.

Speaker A:

They start to share their deeper fears and you lift them up, showing them the cost of staying stuck.

Speaker A:

Again, you're using questioning and you're listening.

Speaker A:

And by phase three, you're solving their core resistance, like the guilt about investing in themselves, whether their spouse has a say in the matter.

Speaker A:

And Connor's closing ratio jumps to 50% here, even with cold leads.

Speaker A:

Because it's all about authenticity and trust.

Speaker A:

So what's really holding us back?

Speaker A:

It's often fear and limiting beliefs.

Speaker A:

So let's unpack a few big ones that I've seen in myself and my community.

Speaker A:

First, there's the fear of selling itself.

Speaker A:

We think I'm not good enough or they don't want this or is my product good enough?

Speaker A:

And I used to dim my light, thinking I had to be someone else to close a deal.

Speaker A:

And Conor nails it when he says the prospect won't actualize what the salesperson doesn't believe to be true.

Speaker A:

So if you don't believe in your value, if you don't believe in your product, if you don't believe you can really help your potential client, they won't either.

Speaker A:

Another big one is focusing on the wrong thing, like the money or what you get out of the sale.

Speaker A:

Now I've been there thinking about my bills instead of the service and the transformation and the value my client would get.

Speaker A:

But soulful sales is all about their new identity, the freedom, the confidence or joy.

Speaker A:

They'll gain what they get at the end of working with you.

Speaker A:

Their vision of that transformation they're expecting from working with you.

Speaker A:

So when you sell from that place.

Speaker A:

It's not pushy, it's a gift.

Speaker A:

Then there's that belief that they don't have the money.

Speaker A:

Spiler.

Speaker A:

It's rarely about the money, it's about their priorities and what they value, or about their fears, like the guilt over investing in themselves.

Speaker A:

And Connor's approach helps you uncover that and reframe it.

Speaker A:

So they see your offer as a life changing investment that it is.

Speaker A:

Now here's the good news.

Speaker A:

You can rewrite these beliefs and sell in a way that feels aligned.

Speaker A:

Here are 10 sneaky mindset traps that are quietly killing your conversions.

Speaker A:

The number one we've already mentioned is I'm scared of selling.

Speaker A:

And you know the feeling.

Speaker A:

You've got a knot in your stomach every time you sell.

Speaker A:

It feels like you're being pushy, that it's slimy.

Speaker A:

You don't want to even send out too many emails or too many social media posts because it feels like you're begging and you fear the no, you fear the rejection.

Speaker A:

Now why is it holding you back?

Speaker A:

If you're fearful, it screams doubt.

Speaker A:

And if you don't believe in yourself or your offer, your prospect feels it.

Speaker A:

I'm sure you've met people who are trying to sell you something and you can just feel there's something off.

Speaker A:

They don't believe it themselves.

Speaker A:

And I used to think that:

Speaker A:

And you can guess how many sessions I sold.

Speaker A:

Zilch.

Speaker A:

So remember, it's not personal.

Speaker A:

It's not about you.

Speaker A:

It's all about them.

Speaker A:

So the shift to make is that selling isn't about convincing, it's about connecting.

Speaker A:

It's about believing.

Speaker A:

People love to buy.

Speaker A:

When you're offering transformation, when you're offering the solution, when you're offering something unique to you that you absolutely know you can deliver.

Speaker A:

And they really understand that it's exactly what they need right now.

Speaker A:

So the next call you're on, focus on their win, not your pitch.

Speaker A:

Number two is they don't want what I have.

Speaker A:

So the belief is you're secretly sure your prospect doesn't need or wants your help, but somehow you're in this space where you're on a call with them.

Speaker A:

And why is that belief holding you back?

Speaker A:

If you don't see your prospect craving your solution or really needing what you have, or you being able to solve that problem for them, then you'll half ass the conversation.

Speaker A:

You've got to know they want the change and that you can deliver it.

Speaker A:

So the shift is Assuming they're dying for what you offer.

Speaker A:

Because they are.

Speaker A:

And ask them what would solving this mean to you?

Speaker A:

And just watch them light up.

Speaker A:

Another mistake is to think it's all about the money.

Speaker A:

And we've discussed this one already.

Speaker A:

If you're obsessed with the sale, the cash, the win and what you get, then the prospect will smell the desperation.

Speaker A:

When you focus on your bank account and not their transformation, you lose deals.

Speaker A:

Clients buy new identities, they buy freedom, they buy their success, not your invoice.

Speaker A:

So to make the shift, flip it.

Speaker A:

See the sale as their gateway to a better life.

Speaker A:

Sell change, not the check.

Speaker A:

See their transformation, their end result.

Speaker A:

Another belief.

Speaker A:

Money's a dirty word.

Speaker A:

You think 5,000 is too much or they can't afford it.

Speaker A:

And why is that holding you back?

Speaker A:

Money baggage blocks their investment.

Speaker A:

Your money baggage blocks their investment.

Speaker A:

I used to apologise for my prices.

Speaker A:

I used to want to discount things almost immediately until I saw clients happily pay.

Speaker A:

When they saw the value, they recognised the worst and I recognized the worth as well.

Speaker A:

The shift.

Speaker A:

Money is just energy.

Speaker A:

Believe they can invest in themselves because they will for the right outcome.

Speaker A:

If they don't buy from you, they'll more likely buy from someone else.

Speaker A:

Plus, it's rude to project your limitations onto others.

Speaker A:

That's a massive mind ready number five.

Speaker A:

The mistake of thinking I can't picture us working together.

Speaker A:

If you have a belief that you can't visualize them as your client, you can't see them shaking hands and signing up and thriving, then that's holding you back.

Speaker A:

Because if you can't see it, you can't sell it.

Speaker A:

Early on, I would blank out mid call and sure they'd even fit.

Speaker A:

No wonder they ghosted.

Speaker A:

If you can't see your client being the ideal fit, then they won't sign up the shift before the call.

Speaker A:

Imagine them nodding, smiling, saying yes.

Speaker A:

See the partnership, know that it's the right fit for them and for you.

Speaker A:

And that's half the battle before you get on the call.

Speaker A:

Number six is similar.

Speaker A:

I'm bringing doubt to the party.

Speaker A:

It's a belief of second guessing yourself mid conversation.

Speaker A:

Your offer, your words, your worth.

Speaker A:

And it's holding you back because doubts are contagious.

Speaker A:

I've hanked calls with a shaky vibe.

Speaker A:

Prospects feel it and they bolt because they feel the doubt and begin to doubt.

Speaker A:

The shift is to walk in certain.

Speaker A:

You've got wins in your pocket, you've got certainty in your offer.

Speaker A:

Act like it and they'll follow your lead.

Speaker A:

Number seven is A real interesting one.

Speaker A:

It's the one I'm not ready for.

Speaker A:

More clients.

Speaker A:

Where deep down you feel you're too busy, too stressed, or too anxious to handle another client, even if you've only got one or two, you can hold the belief that you're actually not ready to work with this client.

Speaker A:

So why is it holding you back?

Speaker A:

If you're not open, you'll push people away.

Speaker A:

I've sabotaged sales because I was stretched thin.

Speaker A:

And energy doesn't lie.

Speaker A:

So if you're coming up with the energy that you can't cope with clients, then that's what they'll pick up on.

Speaker A:

And the shift?

Speaker A:

Get ready.

Speaker A:

Clear space, calm your mind, know you have the capacity, and believe you're built for more.

Speaker A:

Because you are Number eight.

Speaker A:

When you're sitting in, the energy of selling feels wrong.

Speaker A:

The belief, you hate selling because it's icky, manipulative, it's beneath you.

Speaker A:

You don't want to feel pushy.

Speaker A:

Why is that holding you back?

Speaker A:

That repulsion repels clients.

Speaker A:

You can't attract new clients effortlessly.

Speaker A:

You can't work with perfect clients who want to work with you when you're holding that energy.

Speaker A:

I used to dodge the clothes until I saw it is helping.

Speaker A:

Not hustling, serving, not sleazy.

Speaker A:

So the shift is to reframe it.

Speaker A:

You're offering a lifeline.

Speaker A:

You're offering transformation, not a sales pitch.

Speaker A:

Love the process and they'll love you back.

Speaker A:

It's a conversation, it's communication.

Speaker A:

It's connecting with your perfect clients so that you can both check in and work out whether you're a good fit.

Speaker A:

Number nine is holding the thought that they'll figure it out without me.

Speaker A:

And the belief behind that is you think they don't need you, they'll sort it out themselves or find someone else.

Speaker A:

Why is this holding you back?

Speaker A:

Undervaluing your role kills your confidence.

Speaker A:

I've seen clients flounder without my system and my input, then thrive with it.

Speaker A:

And to believe that someone else knows better when you could be the perfect fit is depriving potential clients of your service.

Speaker A:

The shift.

Speaker A:

You're their shortcut to success.

Speaker A:

Believe your expertise is irreplaceable.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

And the final one, number 10.

Speaker A:

I'm not worth the price.

Speaker A:

The belief you don't feel worthy of charging.

Speaker A:

5,000 plus, 3,000 plus.

Speaker A:

It's imposter syndrome whispering in your ear.

Speaker A:

And why is it holding you back?

Speaker A:

If you don't own your value, if you don't feel your worth, they won't either.

Speaker A:

I doubted my worth at first and sales reflected it.

Speaker A:

The shift.

Speaker A:

Remember, you're a game changer.

Speaker A:

Own it.

Speaker A:

Your transformation's worth every penny.

Speaker A:

Start acting like it.

Speaker A:

Without your help, more clients will miss out.

Speaker A:

So the bottom line, these 10 beliefs, they're silent deal killers.

Speaker A:

If you spot them, you can flip them and your conversions will jump.

I just wanted to add my take on selling and know it's something that I have struggled with over the years and it's completely been about my viewpoint and nothing to do with the clients.

I do believe we block our energy, we block our enthusiasm, we block our attraction when we're focused on the sale rather than on the service.

Focusing on what we bring to our clients, focusing on our passion about getting them those amazing transformational results, focusing on the end result on the end result for them and the end result for us.

So the end result for them.

Seeing the transformation, seeing them transformed through working with us as well as seeing the transformation that I know I get each time I work with someone and that brilliant feeling of having served with all my heart.

Focus on that.

Focus on helping this person, this potential client, with joy, alignment and knowing that it's absolutely perfect that you work with them because you have exactly what they need.
