Hello and welcome to this week's Choosing Happy Podcast.

Now this is a biggie.

Speaker A:

This is something I think is so important this time.

Speaker A:

It's an invitation for you to join me in making room for happiness.

Speaker A:

And why is that so important?

Speaker A:

Because we're going to begin by looking at why we don't make room for happiness.

Speaker A:

What are the reasons we resist and stop ourselves from embracing all of who we are and living life as if it's the most important thing for us?

Speaker A:

As I can't remember who said it, living your life as if your life depended on it.

Speaker A:

So I invite you to grab a pen, a piece of paper, find somewhere quiet to sit and really take part in this episode of the Choosing Happy Podcast.

Speaker A:

Hello and welcome to the Choosing Happy Podcast.

Speaker A:

I'm Heather Masters and today I am inviting you on a journey.

Speaker A:

A journey to joy, happiness and and more importantly, to love, to self, love, to self care.

Speaker A:

To giving yourself permission to experience joy and happiness every day in your life because you know how worthy you are.

Speaker A:

Because you know you matter.

Speaker A:

Because you know your life matters.

Speaker A:

And we're going to begin by looking at the very things that we resist around happiness.

Speaker A:

What do we prevent ourselves from doing?

Speaker A:

What other things on our to do list that are just for us, that are those self care moments, those treats that are just those moments of joy and aliveness and you know, doing something that's fun, that might seem frivolous but actually matters.

Speaker A:

Because when we're giving ourselves those moments of joy and bliss, we're sending a message to our unconscious mind to attract more of that into our lives.

Speaker A:

Yet when we block ourselves, when we say that isn't important, that's the message we're giving to unconscious mind.

Speaker A:

So we find more of what we don't want, what we think of as we have to, we must, we should, those chores and life becomes more of a struggle because that's the energy, that's the message we're giving ourselves, our unconscious and out to the universe because of that.

Speaker A:

Because every thought, every feeling, especially every vibration, every emotion instructs the universe in what it brings us.

Speaker A:

The universe is constantly saying yes, it's the message that we're putting out there.

Speaker A:

It says yes to it doesn't discriminate whether it's good or bad.

Speaker A:

The message that we are putting out, the vibration, vibration we're putting out there is the instruction it receives.

Speaker A:

And it's the same with the unconscious mind.

Speaker A:

So I'd like you to, to ponder that to begin with because that's quite a Biggie in itself.

Speaker A:

So when you sit now with your pen and paper in hand, what are the messages that you are primarily sending to the universe, to your unconscious mind on a daily basis?

Speaker A:

You know, we can pause this and take, take five to 10 minutes to.

Speaker A:

To be honest with yourself, to go deep and to let yourself know, let yourself realize.

Speaker A:

Because often some of this is unconscious and we don't allow ourselves to see the messages we're sending to ourselves.

Speaker A:

Like we must work 18 hours a day because if we don't, this will happen.

Speaker A:

What's the fear?

Speaker A:

What's the driver behind it?

Speaker A:

Often it's a negative driver, it's not a toward.

Speaker A:

We're not moving towards something that joyful.

Speaker A:

We're preventing ourselves from embracing truly who we are and living in the moment because we're driven by this unconscious fear.

Speaker A:

So it's really important to take 5 or 10 minutes to write those down, write down those thoughts that are driving you through the day.

Speaker A:

And one of the other things is to think about how you treat yourself.

Speaker A:

I notice because I spend most of my time on my own, that I live differently when someone else is here.

Speaker A:

For instance, being on my own, there are times when I just don't want to cook anything.

Speaker A:

It doesn't seem worth the effort.

Speaker A:

It doesn't seem worthwhile, though if I have someone staying with me, I know I'll make that effort.

Speaker A:

I'll get up earlier to do everything I need to do to make their stay the best it can be.

Speaker A:

I'll go out of my way to cook delicious meals.

Speaker A:

I'll go out of my way to make sure my home is cozy and welcoming.

Speaker A:

Yet I don't do that for myself.

Speaker A:

So I challenge you to a week of treating yourself like an honoured guest.

Speaker A:

Treating yourself as if you have the most important person in your life staying with you.

Speaker A:

Whether it's your mum, whether it's your sister, whether it's a dear, blessed friend, whoever it is, they're turning up at your house for seven days and this person is actually you.

Speaker A:

You are going to be that honored guest and you're going to live that week as if someone else was there, while accepting that you're the honoured guest in your own life.

Speaker A:

So I invite you to do that as well.

Speaker A:

Just have a.

Speaker A:

A go at doing that and see what difference it makes.

Speaker A:

Does it raise your level of happiness?

Speaker A:

But more importantly, does it raise how you think about yourself?

Speaker A:

Does it raise your self worth, your respect for yourself?

Speaker A:

You know, does it give yourself permission?

Speaker A:

Are you giving yourself permission to be Truly who you are are to show up in a different version of yourself because you're honoring yourself.

Speaker A:

You are the honored guest.

Speaker A:

Now I have a meditation, and it's a short meditation, it's part of a longer meditation.

Speaker A:

But I'm going to give you this because it is such a gift.

Speaker A:

And I truly believe that you can't be happy or allow bliss and joy into your life if you're struggling with self worth.

Speaker A:

So this is something you can do every morning in front of a mirror, and I invite you to do it.

Speaker A:

If you're going to do the week of the honored guest, do this for, for yourself three times a day for that week as well.

Speaker A:

And just see the difference that this makes to you and to your life and who you be, who you show up as.

Speaker A:

It's in every moment because that's what matters.

Speaker A:

We attract to us our vibration.

Speaker A:

And this is definitely one to raise your vibration.

Speaker A:

I'll put the full.

Speaker A:

I'll record the full meditation and put a link to that in the show notes.

But this is the beginning of the meditation.

Speaker A:

First of all, take a moment to relax.

Speaker A:

If you're driving, pull over or do this at a different time.

Speaker A:

But if you have a moment, just make yourself comfortable in your chair and take a deep breath in and out and in and out and in and out.

Speaker A:

And I want you to close your eyes on this out breath.

Speaker A:

I want you just to think about relaxing, relaxing from the top of your head to the tip of your toes, Just relaxing your head, your forehead, relax your brows, your eyebrows, your eyes, the skin around your eyes, skin on your face.

Speaker A:

Relax your jaw, move it around a bit if you want to.

Speaker A:

And just get all of that tension out of your jaw.

Speaker A:

Just let it go, let it flow out of you.

Speaker A:

And then relax your neck again, move it about a little bit.

Speaker A:

And then just relax.

Speaker A:

And your shoulders, you might want to move those about and just allow them to relax.

Speaker A:

And your chest and all the internal organs in your chest, imagine them relaxing.

Speaker A:

Imagine them taking a breath and just.

Speaker A:

And your stomach, your abdomen and all those internal organs inside.

Speaker A:

Just imagine them breathing in and relaxing, releasing all of the tension, the toxins, releasing all of that energy.

Speaker A:

And then your legs and thighs, relaxing, relaxing right through to the bones, relaxing your knees, flexing your kneecaps, those bones.

Speaker A:

Feel your bones relaxing, relaxing your calves, bones relaxing right through.

Speaker A:

Just feeling that energy, vibrating and relaxing your ankles and your feet right through to the bones, relaxing, feeling that energy and relaxing.

Speaker A:

I'd like you to take a deep breath in and imagine all of you imagine all of those parts, your higher self, your unconscious mind aligning so you're sitting up straight and feeling the truth of all of you.

Speaker A:

In alignment with Source, with energy, I'd like you to open the top of your head and allow the infinite source of love, light and healing.

Speaker A:

A light that bright, that flows through you and fills you up from your toes, fills you up to your legs, your knees, your thighs, fills you up through your abdomen, your chest, your arms, your hands, your fingers.

Speaker A:

And it's flowing out of your fingers, it's flowing out of your toes, fills you up into your shoulders and your neck and your head.

Speaker A:

So that it you're flowing, the light of loving kindness, of healing, of Source.

Speaker A:

It's deep love and compassion and it's flowing through your body.

Speaker A:

What I'd like you to do next is to place your hand over your heart and imagine you're looking at yourself in the mirror as you are now, being brutally honest with that mirror reflection, the current version of you.

Speaker A:

And you're looking at yourself.

Speaker A:

And I want you to repeat this, say your name.

Speaker A:

So for me, it would be Heather.

Speaker A:

Heather, I love you.

Speaker A:

I accept you as you are.

Speaker A:

I commit to you, you are important, your life counts.

Speaker A:

And I want you to repeat it again.

Speaker A:

Heather, I love you.

Speaker A:

I accept you as you are.

Speaker A:

I commit to you, you are important, your life counts.

Speaker A:

I want you to pause this recording and repeat that.

Speaker A:

To really feel it, to get the true sense in your heart, in your complete being.

Speaker A:

Till you feel that love, the unconditional love for who you be.

Speaker A:

Did you get that sense of who you are at the core, that light, that spark of life that exists to illuminate your place in the world.

Speaker A:

Understanding that you are important, that you do matter, your life matters, just as you are.

Speaker A:

And when you're ready, when that's really settled and you get a full sense of that, I want you to imagine your heart glowing like a star and all of that love moving throughout your body, joining in that stream of light and love and healing.

Speaker A:

And this is your heart's love, your connection to that open hearted love for yourself and for all around you and for the planet.

Speaker A:

You sit with that and just bask in that glow of that love and sending that light to every cell in your body, to all of the DNA in your body, and requesting that that light changes any beliefs, any doubts, any blocks to you being and accepting who you truly are fully in this lifetime.

Speaker A:

So it removes any blocks to you showing up fully enjoy in happiness on purpose.

Speaker A:

Just imagine that light in every cell and every cell, changing and changing your DNA, going right into your DNA and rewriting it for joy, for happiness, for living purposefully as who you truly are.

Speaker A:

And then when you're ready to come back slowly to the room, wriggling your toes, wriggling your fingers, maybe take a stretch and open your eyes and bringing that feeling back with you into your day.

Speaker A:

Feeling of love, acceptance and absolute permission to be joyful.

Speaker A:

To embrace happiness and love and self care and joy in just being alive.

Speaker A:

Then choose three ways.

Speaker A:

They might be just small moments that you can choose today to express joy in your life.

Speaker A:

Do something that's joyful for you.

Speaker A:

Whether it's taking five minutes to dance around the kitchen, whether it's baking or cooking and putting joy and love into that whatever it is that you love to do that you might deny yourself because you haven't got time, because there's more important things to do.

Speaker A:

Whether it's playing music, whether it's reading a book, whether it's giving your self time to meditate, whether it's giving yourself time to take a walk in nature, whatever it is that brings you joy that maybe you've been denying yourself.

Speaker A:

And the final part is to reflect.

Speaker A:

Take this into seven days and notice the difference between who you maybe are being now and who you are at the end of the seven days.

Speaker A:

Accepting yourself for all of you for who you are, for what you do, for what you bring to the world, and taking time to acknowledge the gift that you are and who you are when you show up fully and give your gift to the world.

Speaker A:

And of course it's all about choosing happiness, choosing to do these things for ourselves.

Speaker A:

Because happiness isn't about what you do, it's about who you be.

Speaker A:

And I hope this brings value to you.

And just to recap that seven day challenge is to do this meditation for seven days as well as seeing yourself as the honored guest and living life for the next seven days with you as the honored guest in your life.
