And Good Friday.
Heather Masters:Welcome to this Friday features.
Heather Masters:I'm Heather Masters and today it's the final day of our clearing week and we're diving into a topic that's crucial for every entrepreneur and professional out there, and that's clearing work and business blocks.
Heather Masters:So whether you're running your own business or you're climbing the corporate ladder, or you just want to get to that next stage, there are obstacles that can hold you back from reaching your full potential.
Heather Masters:We covered a few of them yesterday in the emotional blocks.
Heather Masters:But let's take it a little bit deeper for businesses and entrepreneurs.
Heather Masters:So let's get started.
Heather Masters:I want to first of all identify some of the common blocks that might be hindering your progress professionally.
Heather Masters:Here are a few to consider.
Heather Masters:One is fear of failure.
Heather Masters:It can paralyze decision making.
Heather Masters:It stops you from taking risks.
Heather Masters:It creates an ongoing pattern of doubt which can really hinder your progress going forward and hinder you in other areas of your life as well.
Heather Masters:And that kind of leads to the second one because that is lack of clarity.
Heather Masters:And without a clear vision or goals, it's easy to feel lost.
Heather Masters:And it's easy to lose your sense of self worth as well with lack of direction.
Heather Masters:And that can lead to inaction.
Heather Masters:And again, if you've got that self doubt, that doubt about the decisions you're making and that fear, it can all really prevent you from living your full greatness at work.
Heather Masters:Overwhelm.
Heather Masters:This is really common today with the amount of information that we have thrown at us and being able to focus and break things down really can help us to move forward.
Heather Masters:But we can easily get stuck in procrastination because of overwhelm, which only compounds the problem and also increases that that doubts and self doubts around the decisions that we're making.
Heather Masters:And having a negative mindset always coming up with what can go wrong.
Heather Masters:Can I stop you from even starting?
Heather Masters:And one of the real helpful tips that I've had is like, if you find yourself doing that around something, maybe you've got an opportunity to do something you've never done before and your mind is coming up with all of these reasons that you can't do it, then write those down.
Heather Masters:Write the list of all the reasons you can do it.
Heather Masters:Not only that you can do it, but you want to do it and you want to give it a go.
Heather Masters:Because sometimes we think we can't because we've never done it before.
Heather Masters:But have a look at why you want to do it, what it will give you, what will the benefits of having that end result of completing that task, what are the benefits going forward that it can give you?
Heather Masters:And that can often help you move out of that negative mindset.
Heather Masters:So here are a few more of strategies to clear the way and get rid of those blocks.
Heather Masters:So embracing failure as a learning tool, because we all fail in the beginning, it's very rare that you do something right first time.
Heather Masters:And failure is really an opportunity to learn and to grow.
Heather Masters:And every successful entrepreneur, every successful business person has failed in some way and learned from it and got back up and moved forward.
Heather Masters:So look at failure as a.
Heather Masters:It's not failure, it's an opportunity to learn.
Heather Masters:They're only lessons in life.
Heather Masters:Set clear goals.
Heather Masters:So take the time to really define your short term and long term goals so that you know what you're aiming for.
Heather Masters:And having these and having them clearly defined and very specific and measurable and achievable and relevant.
Heather Masters:Doing the smart goals, the time bound with NLP I take it a little bit further than just the smart goals that you normally see out in the business world.
Heather Masters:There's a whole bit of woo and working with the unconscious to get to meet your goals.
Heather Masters:But having those goals set really helps you avoid that self doubt.
Heather Masters:Because as soon as you move into self doubt, you can ask yourself, is this moving me towards the goals that I've set?
Heather Masters:Is this moving me forward?
Heather Masters:Is it moving me towards what I want to achieve and backing that up as well as then prioritizing and delegating.
Heather Masters:So prioritizing your tasks in order to move towards your goal.
Heather Masters:You can use things like the Eisenhower matrix, you can delegate where possible.
Heather Masters:And all of this helps remove that feeling of being overwhelmed because you've got that focus on your high impact activities that drive results.
Heather Masters:You have then got a clear path of what you're meant to be doing, what you're moving towards, where you're momentum forward comes from.
Heather Masters:And finally, cultivate that positive mindset.
Heather Masters:As I say, practice gratitude, practice positive affirmations.
Heather Masters:Surround yourself with supportive people who not only uplift you and share your vision, but often surrounding yourself with people who've done what you're trying to achieve can really motivate you and help you to move forward.
Heather Masters:Because you know if it's possible for them, it can be possible for you.
Heather Masters:And again, cultivating that positive mindset, use that comparison, the AB list, the write down the negative stuff, but then in the next column write down all the reasons you can that it's possible, what the opportunities are as well.
Heather Masters:So now that we've Got our strategies in place, it's time to take some action.
Heather Masters:So here are some ways you can begin to implement those things straight away.
Heather Masters:First of all, set the time each day for daily reflection.
Heather Masters:And I would say in the morning before you start, so you're setting the intention for the day and actually walk yourself through the day and seeing it going really, really well.
Heather Masters:And then at the end of the day closing everything down properly, creating a list of the things that maybe you haven't finished so that you know what your priorities are are for the next day.
Heather Masters:This helps you get everything out of your head before you leave for the day so that you can have a really good sleep.
Heather Masters:And also you can be present with your family and friends as well.
Heather Masters:And when you come in the next day, you know exactly where you're starting and what your priorities are.
Heather Masters:So it removes procrastination and self doubt.
Heather Masters:Find a coach or an accountability partner or join a mastermind group.
Heather Masters:Especially if you're a solo entrepreneur.
Heather Masters:This can really, really help because sharing your goals and your aims and your struggles with others and creating that support system can really keep you on track, keep you motivated and help you recognize that other people are having the same issues as you.
Heather Masters:And you know, sometimes two heads or three heads are better than one.
Heather Masters:So have a look at that.
Heather Masters:And again, from an accountability partner perspective, I'm open as a.
Heather Masters:I'm taking on clients before the beginning of January and I will have a very special offer for what I called awakened entrepreneurs coming up very, very soon.
Heather Masters:Invest in personal development.
Heather Masters:So consider investing in courses and workshops that enhance your skills and your knowledge and, you know, help you with your continuous learning.
Heather Masters:I think especially as entrepreneurs, especially in these changing times, there is a requirement to keep learning so that we can overcome obstacles.
Heather Masters:We can keep up with tech, we can keep up with our marketing so that we're keeping one step ahead both in our professional career and for our business growth.
Heather Masters:So there you have it.
Heather Masters:By identifying and clearing these work and business blocks, you can be well on your way to achieving your goals and unlocking your full potential as an entrepreneur or a professional.
Heather Masters:One of the things I'd like to add before I finish is sales, because I know this can be a big block for many people.
Heather Masters:So find a sales course.
Heather Masters:Find someone who can help you find a sales coach, someone who can coach you through making those sales and through overcoming your fear of sales and maybe your perspective on sales.
Heather Masters:Changing a secondhand sales car perspective to seeing sales as serving so that a sale is elegance and an invitation to work with you for the transformation of the people you're working with.
Heather Masters:So I hope you found this useful today.
Heather Masters:If you did, please don't forget to like, share and subscribe for more tips on personal and professional growth.
Heather Masters:And until next time, which is Monday and Monday Motivation.
Heather Masters:Have an absolutely fabulous Friday and an amazing weekend and I shall see you on Monday.
